Delay Compensation

If you have been delayed 20 minutes or more when travelling with us, you are entitled to delay compensation.

Delay Compensation applies to all trips with our buses, Öresundståg, Pågatåg, Västtågen and Krösatågen.

The compensation is calculated as followed:

You are entitled to compensation in case of a delay according to:

• 20 to 39 minutes delay
  50 percent of the price of the journey
• 40 to 59 minutes delay
  75 percent of the price of the journey
• Over 60 minutes delay
  100 percent of the price of the journey

The compensation is based on the price of the journey

How much compensation you get is based on the price of the journey.

The compensation can be paid in two different ways:

• A voucher that you use to buy a ticket either at our customer service centers or retailers.
• Cash compensation. Complete the application with account details. If you have a foreign bank you also need to enclose the name of the bank, address, SWIFT/(BIC code) and IBAN-number.

If you choose compensation in the form of a voucher, we will add an additional 20 percent to the amount.

The delay compensation applies only to journeys with Hallandstrafiken.

Other means of transport

• If you have continued your trip with taxi, we will compensate the actual cost of the trip. Compensation can be paid by cash or in the form of a voucher. The maximum amount is 1 120 SEK. Taxi compensation will only be paid if the application is completed with a taxi receipt.
• If you have continued your trip by car, we will compensate according to the Swedish tax offices rules. Compensation can be paid by cash or in the form of a voucher. The maximum amount is 1 120 SEK. In some cases we will ask for a receipt.

Trips to and from Denmark

When travelling to Denmark, Hallandstrafikens delay compensation only covers delays that appears within Swedish borders, when the trips starts in Halland. DSB Denmark compensates for delays that appears in Denmark.
